Hip hop, a cultural movement rooted in the Bronx, New York, emerged on August 11th, 1973 at a house party where DJ Kool Herc showcased an innovative technique of mixing and extending breakbeats, which laid the foundation for the genre's musical aspect. Over time, rap, an essential element of hip hop, evolved as artists started rhyming over beats, expressing their experiences and narratives. The art of breakdancing brought dynamic movement to the culture, while graffiti art added visual creativity to urban spaces. Hip hop's influence grew, addressing social issues, reflecting urban life, and empowering marginalized communities. It expanded globally, becoming a dominant force in music, fashion, and popular culture. 50 years later and it’s still going strong.

"Mise-en-scène: Expressions on Celluloid" is more than just a passion project that I decided to tackle; it's a labour of love, carefully curated to showcase the rich tapestry of human emotions captured on hundreds of movies I painstakingly sifted through.
It offers a deep dive into the human experience through cinema, handpicking each frame to weave together a visual symphony of expressions, from the extreme to the subtle, the exuberant to the hauntingly emotionless. This project celebrates the artistry of filmmaking while showcasing the power of facial expressions in conveying the depth and complexity of the human condition.

I am a dedicated and skilled video editor with 10 years of experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment. I have a proven track record of producing high-quality long-form and short-form video content across news, entertainment, and special projects. Known for my flexibility in work hours and my ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, I excel in fast-paced settings, demonstrating exceptional speed and multitasking abilities.
In addition to my full-time role at Global News, I provide freelance video editing services for small businesses. My experience includes work for Bad Brain Studios, where I operated under a non-disclosure agreement.
During the pandemic, I launched "Diggin' in the Crates," a YouTube visual storytelling series that promotes unique music and inclusivity within the record-collecting and DJ community. In this series, I showcase records from my vinyl collection and invite global guests to share their favourite records.
